Looking for ways to speed up my computer? Here are some of the best and simplest things you could try out. What is more? These are steps that hardly take a few minutes to accomplish.

1. Registry cleaners help to speed up my computer. To clarify how: a Windows registry is a place to hold critical entries for the OS to use regarding hardware/ software etc associated with the system. When you install software or hardware entries are made. When they are uninstalled the entries sometimes continue in the registry and slow down your system. Registry cleaners remove these items effectively.

2. Limiting the programs that load during start up – a major portion of booting delay is caused by too many programs that load during start up. Taking a quick look at these and knocking off the ones that are not required speeds up the boot process substantially.

3. Hard disk management – regular cleaning up of your hard disk, clearing out unwanted files and de-fragmenting the hard disk are some steps that impact booting time.

4. Adding more memory – is one of the best and simplest ways to speed up my computer. This is of course going to cost but the result is well worth it. This step is especially desirable when all the other ways have been tried without much success. A 2 GB plus RAM can boost up performance and reduce the boot time to a highly noticeable extent.

5. Turning off visuals – though many of us do not realize it one of the reasons a computer can slow down is attributed to having visual effects that have no immediate or meaningful purpose other than providing a great look. So tone down on visual effect to improve performance.

6. Routine computer maintenance – when you are on the net and downloading applications etc there is bound to be spyware and viruses sitting on your system slowing processes. It is good to have a solid anti-virus installed.

7. Upgrading your computer – even after implementing all the methods suggested your computer does not speed Vista boot up, you might have to consider replacing some of your hard ware – may be the hard disk, video card etc.

Just spending a few minutes to use the above methods can speed up my computer at ultra fast speeds! Click on the below link to get started with dependable registry cleaners to clean up your system.

Tired of slowing PC performance? Do you want to speed up my computer in cheap and fast way? You can scan the registry error in your computer for free and fix them with the best registry cleaner on the market. After scanning and fixing your PC, you will be surprise how fast your computer is. – http://www.expert-product-reviews.net/detect-registry-error.html

About the Author: Ally Wood is a professional software reviewer and has worked in CNET. Now she is working for her own review software company to give feedback to the software creator and has done deep test in registry cleaner software.

The U.S. Computer Emergency Readiness Team warned BlackBerry users on Tuesday about a new program called PhoneSnoop that allows someone to remotely eavesdrop on phone conversations.

The PhoneSnoop application must be installed on the phone by someone who has physical access to it or by tricking the user into downloading it, the CERT advisory said.

The author of the app, Sheran Gunasekera, director of security for Hermis Consulting in Jakarta, Indonesia, says it wasn’t written to do any actual harm, but rather to warn of the dangers that still exist with the BlackBerry.

Source: www.h-online.com

Security holes in numerous PDF applications allow attackers to infect systems with malware. When loading and unloading certain COM objects, for instance, the Foxit plug-in (npFoxitReaderPlugin.dll) for the Firefox web browser under Windows causes a memory leak that can potentially be exploited for injecting and executing code via specially crafted web pages. The flaw was discovered in version 3.1.1.0928 and has also been confirmed to exist in the current version 3.1.2.1013 of Foxit Reader (with Firefox 3.5.3 ). A similar bug that affected the loading of objects was recently fixed in Adobe Reader. So far, no updates have been made available for Foxit Reader.

Developers have also released a patch for the free Xpdf PDF reader that fixes four security problems in version 3.02. Exploits for a buffer overflow and a null pointer dereference hole are already in circulation. Problems in Xpdf usually cause a whole string of vulnerabilities in other applications that are based on its code, for example poppler, CUPS , Gpdf and KPDF.
